Marble Magnificence
Privacy
Last updated 8 September 2026. This policy covers the Marble Magnificence app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, published by Rack & Pinecone LLC of Boise, Idaho.
The short version
Marble Magnificence collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere. It stores only your game progression on your device. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDK, and no server belonging to us for anything to be sent to. Two features touch sensitive hardware — the camera and the local network — and both are described in full below.
Every claim on this page is written narrowly on purpose, and each one was checked against the game’s source rather than written from memory. If something here is wrong, we would rather hear about it than have it stand.
The camera, and the mirror
One mode, called Mirror, watches your face with the front camera so the marble can pull the same expression back at you.
- It uses Apple’s ARKit face tracking. What the app receives each frame is a short list of numbers describing expression — how open the jaw is, how raised an eyebrow is — plus the position and angle of your head.
- Those numbers exist in memory for as long as one frame. Each frame overwrites the last, and leaving the mode clears them. Nothing is written to storage.
- No camera image ever reaches the app. The app does not receive, record, save, or transmit video or photographs. The expression numbers are not sent anywhere either.
- The numbers are not used to identify you, are not matched against anything, and could not be used to reconstruct your face.
- iOS asks for camera permission the first time you open Mirror, not at launch. Decline and Mirror will tell you it cannot run; every other part of the game is unaffected.
The local network, and multiplayer
Battle Royale and two-player mode let phones in the same room join a game hosted by an Apple TV or by another phone.
- Devices find each other over your local network using Apple’s Multipeer
Connectivity, which advertises the service names
_marble-battle._tcpand_marble-battle._udp. iOS asks for local-network permission the first time. - The connection is encrypted, using encryption provided by Apple’s operating system. We add none of our own.
- What crosses it is the game: stick positions, marble positions and velocities, collision results and round state. Nothing else is on the wire.
- Each device introduces itself with a throwaway label such as
iPhone-4C2A, built from a random identifier generated fresh for that session. Your device name and your Apple Account name are not used and are not sent. - Traffic goes directly between the devices in the room. It does not pass through, and is not copied to, any server of ours — we do not operate one.
What the app stores on your device
Nothing about you. The app saves completed-level results so it can remember which courses you have unlocked and your strongest result between launches. It does not save a profile, account, personal identifier, camera data, or play history. This progression stays in the app’s own storage on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
What we receive
If you email us, we have your email and whatever you put in it, and we use it to answer you.
If you are a TestFlight tester, Apple gives us what Apple’s own beta program gives every developer: crash reports, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send through TestFlight. That is Apple’s system, collected by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, and it is the only channel through which anything about your session reaches us. We use it to fix the game.
Children
The game has no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content, no purchases and no advertising, so there is nothing here for a child to disclose to us and nothing for us to collect. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone of any age, children included, because we do not collect personal information.
Your rights
Regulations in your part of the world may give you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to show you and nothing to delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and it will be.
Changes
If the game gains a feature that changes any of this, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. The version of this policy that applies to you is the one published when you use the app.
